The Iron Wolves 2, Orlana's Rage (unfinished)

It is with a heavy heart that I learn that Andy Remic has passed away. He was a prolific author, a film director and creator, and all-round decent guy. I was lucky enough to work with him on his text adventures for the Spectrum, including The Iron Wolves. We'd been working on the second half of the story, Orlana's Rage, but sadly now this won't be finished. But I know it would have been excellent - his most recent text adventures won 1st and 4th place in the Game of the Year awards. A multi-talented legend, and a good friend. He will be missed.

Planned publisher: Cronosoft
Format: ZX Spectrum

Enclosed are parts of Andy's descriptions, and my interpretations.

Mud Orc. Slimy, deformed, broken men. Born of the mud.

Splice - a large disjointed monster, broken and angular, a mixture of man and horse. Horns twisting from the horse head.

A toxic lake. Sickly, maybe a narrow sandy shore.

A generic internal medieval castle environment/room. Big stones, brackets with fire torches lighting the way.

An icy mountain environment. Snow and ice, bleak, white and cyan, distant snowy mountains, icy walls, icy crags.

The Hanging Oak where they obviously hang people.

Generic woodland. A mix of trees. Maybe a broken path winding between them.

A buxom young maid, milking a cow. A fantasy cow 'cos it has six legs and tattoos and twisted horns...

The outside of a derelict fortress/castle.

Climbing Zunda the volcano. A red, fiery landscape, some black rocks, a rough natural staircase leading up/down.

Guards. A few trees. A bit of crumbling wall. Derelict. Old armour. These are more bandits I suppose. Roaming brigands.

Even though we didn't have time to finish the project, I'll leave these pictures here so you can see what he was planning. Andy's imagination, dedication, and humour will continue to be an inspiration to me.
